Τους λόγους που κλέβουν την διάθεση για σεξ στους άνδρες και τις γυναίκες αποκαλύπτει νέα έρευνα.

Σε Βρετανική μελέτη στην οποία συμμετείχαν 11.508 άνδρες και γυναίκες 16-74 ετών οι ερευνητές βρήκαν πως το 15% των ανδρών και το 34,2% των γυναικών ανέφερε ότι είχε περιορισμένο ενδιαφέρον για το σεξ. Η έρευνα δημοσιεύτηκε στην BMJ Open.

Οι άνδρες ήταν πιο πιθανό να δείξουν χαμηλότερο σεξουαλικό ενδιαφέρον λόγω της ηλικίας, της στυτικής δυσλειτουργίας και γενικά σωματικών και ψυχικών προβλημάτων υγείας. Παράλληλα όμως η έρευνα βρήκε πως η έλλειψη επικοινωνίας για το σεξ ή άλλα προβλήματα στη σχέση θα μπορούσαν επίσης να είναι παράγοντες για την έλλειψη σεξουαλικού ενδιαφέροντος.

Από την άλλη η έλλειψη ενδιαφέροντος των γυναικών για το σεξ συχνά σχετίζεται με προβλήματα στη σχέση, κακή σωματική υγεία, κατάθλιψη ή ακόμα και το αν έχουν μικρά παιδιά (αυτός δεν ήταν παράγοντας για τους άνδρες).

Η μελέτη βρήκε επίσης πως οι συμπεριφορές και οι προηγούμενες εμπειρίες θα μπορούσαν να παίξουν ρόλο και να επηρεάσουν τη σεξουαλική επιθυμία. Για παράδειγμα οι γυναίκες που μεγάλωσαν με αρνητική οπτική για το σεξ ή βίωσαν μία επίπονη, ακόμα και τραυματική πρώτη σεξουαλική εμπειρία, όπως η σεξουαλική κακοποίηση ή η πίεση για συναινετικό σεξ ήταν πιο πιθανό να έχουν μειωμένο σεξουαλικό ενδιαφέρον στη συνέχεια της ζωής τους. Από την άλλη για τους άνδρες μία λιγότερο ιδανική πρώτη σεξουαλική εμπειρία δεν ήταν παράγοντας χαμηλής λίμπιντο.

Και στα δύο φύλα ωστόσο θεωρείται πως η γήρανση παίζει ρόλο για τη μείωση του σεξουαλικού ενδιαφέροντος. Όσοι συμφωνούσαν με την πρόταση «Οι άνθρωποι θέλουν λιγότερο σεξ όσο μεγαλώνουν», ήταν πιο πιθανό να αναφέρουν χαμηλότερο ενδιαφέρον για σεξ.
